The Swedish Energy Agency has granted funding to a new research and innovation project aimed at improving how batteries and battery systems are understood, used, and reused. The initiative brings together a strategic collaboration of key players from academia and industry: Linköping University, Sungkyunkwan University, Batixt, Husqvarna Group, and Toyota Material Handling Europe.
The project combines Batixt’s unique battery measurement technology with advanced physics-based and data-driven modelling from the universities for industrial application. Together, the partners will develop methods and tools to improve production quality, extend battery lifetime, and enable efficient reuse in a “second life.”
– The lack of rapid, reliable, and relevant measurement data for batteries is a barrier to development and innovation across the battery industry. Batixt’s R3 EIS measurement technology changes this, and data from their instruments unlocks opportunities for increased and faster learning about batteries and how they can be diagnosed. This project focuses on how Batixt’s new data can be analyzed and interpreted to meet the need for improved battery diagnostics in industry, says Maria Murphy, CEO at Batixt.

Batixt took part in the Swedish – German Battery Summit in Stuttgart on the 8th of June. The summit was organised by Business Sweden and and Batixt was one of 6 swedish scale-up companies participating togheter with german companies. Batixt was chosen to be part of the Swedish delegation to to the Battery Show Europe in Stuttgart in June 2026.
The delegation was organised by Business Sweden and the Swedish Energy Agency and gave Batixt the opportunity to engage with key stakeholders in the battery research community and industry.

Batixt and Toyota Material Handling Europe collaborate on sustainable battery health assessment project
Batixt is taking the next step toward more sustainable energy storage together with Toyota Material Handling Europe. The project, “Efficient Evaluation of Battery State-of-Health for a Sustainable Energy System,” has been granted funding from the Swedish Energy Agency under its call Concept Development of Innovations with Business Focus.
A key challenge in enabling circular battery use is the lack of fast, cost-effective and reliable tools for assessing battery State-of-Health (SoH) after use. Batixt’s fast and advanced EIS measurement technology has the potential to address this gap by providing more relevant data for evaluating batteries after leasing, before reuse, or for second-life applications. The project will focus on measurements of battery modules, consisting of multiple battery cells.
“Working with Toyota Material Handling Europe gives us direct access to real customer challenges related to battery SoH measurement. This will accelerate the development of our next-generation battery measurement instruments and help us adapt our solution to OEM needs,” says Maria Murphy, founder and CEO of Batixt.
